Dog Friendly Breweries in Chicago

Dog Friendly Breweries Chicago

Happy National Beer Day!

Chicago is home to a ton of great breweries, and a lot of them allow you to bring your well-behaved furry besties with you to enjoy a sour or hazy IPA. I have a google map list saved of this category (find it here), but I wanted to list a couple of my favorites below. Make sure before you visit with your fluff to double check with the brewery ahead of time, and note if it’s only outdoor or if you can go inside as well.

Une Annee in Skokie/Niles

This brewpub is so cool. They have trivia on Mondays, and dogs are allowed on their good sized outdoor patio. They have bags for playing and a seriously great selection of beers at a good price. I’ve never had their BBQ yet but I’ve heard it’s pretty fantastic. Every beer I’ve had has been a winner, so it’s definitely worth checking out. Bonus points if you want to make a trip out of it & go to the Costco that’s right there (also Aldi & Target, so like 4 birds 1 stone).

Sketchbook in Skokie

Again dogs are allowed outdoors only, but Sketchbook is truly fantastic. They had a smoked lager that was absolutely amazing, they have trivia on Wednesdays and it’s BYO Food (we brought an Aldi pizza with us for trivia one night, it was fantastic). This is their 2nd location, much larger, and the outdoor patio is just so cute. Note that their flagship Evanston location doesn’t allow dogs (sorry).

On Tour Brewing Company in West Town

We used to visit this brewery frequently when my husband lived in Wicker Park. There’s always people there but rarely super packed. The beer selection is wide - from pilsners to hazy IPAs to Bitters. They often have food pop-ups, you can get Roots pizza delivered, and frequent live music. They’re also Grateful Dead fans & have listening parties every Wednesday, if you’re into that (shout out to my teammate Jonathan Weyant who is very much into that). They have once a month tours as well.

Metropolitan Brewing in Avondale

Just across the river from Bricktown/Roscoe Village is Metropolitan Brewing. Dogs are allowed and the taproom and outdoor patio are HUGE so you’ll have lots of space. It’s BYO Food too! On Sunday mornings they have Yoga (which includes a half liter beer and they have METAL yoga!!! I’ll be booking that with friends soon…).

Burning Bush Brewery in North Center

Right across the river from Horner Park (and Horner Park Dog Park), Burning Bush is a great little brewery that allows dogs indoors, it’s BYO Food or get food delivered, Trivia on Wednedays, and a great Witbier. They have weekly specials as well! Check out this little brewery - it definitely deserves a lot more attention.

Check out the rest of the bars & breweries in Chicago that allow dogs below, and let me know what your favorite is below!

And as a note again, always make sure to check with the bar or brewery before bringing your dog. Covid has changed a lot of rules so you’ll want to make sure before you drive out.
